Ethics & Disclosure
Janis Hutton is a member of the International Coaching Federation and a Royal Roads University trained Certified Executive Coach. Royal Roads University in Victoria, BC (Canada) is a graduate level program that is recognized as an accredited coaching/training program (ACTP) through the International Coach Federation (ICF), the body that governs the coaching profession.
As defined by the ICF, “Coaching is partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.”
Janis holds a Masters in Counselling from Santa Clara University and has worked as a health coach/advisor at Stanford University. These opportunities have expanded Janis’s skills and competencies as a helping professional. Janis does incorporate counselling skills into her work, however chooses to practice as a coach, not as a psychotherapist. Janis has made this professional choice in an informed way and she will be sure you understand the differences between coaching and psychotherapy before you begin working together.
